We are a “travel companion” group for people living in the Battle area, including Netherfield, Telham, Catsfield, Crowhurst, Whatlington, Mountfield and Robertsbridge.
Our members enjoy meeting up and visiting places, be that a day in London, a pub lunch, a walk, going to watch a band, the cinema, or other activities.
If you’ve ever wanted to go somewhere but couldn’t find people to go with, then this group is for you.
The group is run on Facebook and started because although there are similar groups covering the larger town such as Hastings, Bexhill and Eastbourne, nothing existed for the rural Battle area. Our villages are full of little groups that knit, sing, read, play football, etc, but we don’t have a travel & days-out group.
It’s anticipated that as a group member you will not only take part in some of the activities, but will occasionally suggest events too, which you’d be happy for other members to join in with.
How to join us…
When you join, we’ll ask you for a list of places you want to visit, as this is what pulls the group together. Don’t worry though, your name will never be associated with the answers you give, and your personal details will never be revealed or used in any way.
For example we might discover a handful of people wanting to do the Houses of Parliament tour, or Harvey’s brewery in Lewes. Having a list of what people fancy lets us do those things.
If you already have your own “bucket list” of things to see/visit/do then that’s great. If not then start making one…
Once you’ve got a good list together, fill in the membership form, then join the facebook group.
